The Hill Christian Academy - Philosophy of Education

The purpose of The Hill Christian Academy is two-fold.

The first purpose is to assist the parents in fulfilling God-given responsibilities to instruct and discipline.  Scripture teaches that parents have the primary responsibility to educate their children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. (Deuteronomy 4:9; 6:7-9; Proverbs 22:6; Ephesians 6:1-4)  The home, school and church must complement each other in this endeavor.   All three are working together to encourage development intellectually, spiritually and morally.  Therefore the student can evaluate and perceive all life with the “mind of Christ.”

The second purpose is academic education.  This is done through integrating a Biblical view of God and the world.  The students need to be equipped to mature to their full potential and become a fruitful member of the family, church and community.  (Psalm 1:3; II Timothy 3:16,17)

The Hill Christian Academy is not a shelter from the world or views contrary to Biblical views.  Rather, it is to provide tools to equip, evaluate information and develop discernment from Biblically-based convictions.  Truth is only truth if it is based on God’s Word.  All subjects are viewed as a part of the total truth of God’s Word.  Therefore, Biblical principals are woven into all areas of the curriculum.
